This is a 3 button remote, which can be used to operate up to 3 garage doors using InteliCode radio controls. This is a three button remote that can be used to operate up to three garage doors operators that use Genie IntelliCode radio controls.  This remote is defaulted to operate the new IntelliCode 2 Genie garage door openers.  However, you can also program the individual buttons to operate other IntelliCode 1 (from pre-2011) models of Genie garage door openers that were made from 1998 to present.  To change a button to operate a pre-2011 IntelliCode Genie garage door opener, the default IntelliCode 2 setting needs to be changed to IntelliCode 1.  An LED light on the remote control  will display which mode the remote button is in.  For example:  Red = IntelliCode 1  and Green = IntelliCode 2

To set one of the three buttons to be IntelliCode 1 (or Red), please follow these instructions:

Select a button on the remote that has not been programmed
Press and hold that button for 10 seconds (both the red and green LEDs will then come on and stay on)
Press the same button two times to toggle IntelliCode selection from IntelliCode 2 to IntelliCode 1
Press the same button again to confirm toggle between the two. The LED should now be red.  The IntelliCode selection for this button is now set to IntelliCode 1.

After this you are now ready to program the remote to your Genie garage door opener.  Please follow the instructions below to Program to IntelliCode 1 Genie garage door opener:

Programming Instructions:

Press the receiver learn code button on the power head receiver of your Genie garage door opener (which is the motor head on ceiling in garage). This is a small, black and unmarked button located behind the light lens at the motor head and is nearest the 6" antenna wire that is behind the motor head. When pressed, a radio signal indicator light will start blinking red for 30 seconds. After pressing the learn code button, press the transmitter button two times for your system to synch with the frequency and code (remember to keep the remote transmitter you're tuning at least 2 feet away from the power head while performing this function). Now press the remote transmitter button one more time to test the system and start your door moving.
